Roofer Highland Village: Old hail damage new claims

In 2011 we saw widespread hail damage in Dallas Fort Worth. For a roofer Highland Village was an ideal area of focus. The damage in the Lantana, Highland Village, Corinth areas was both severe and surprising. The local news reported NOTHING of a serious hail storm. An EcoShield crew just happened to be in Lantana checking on a customer project completed a few daysearlier. The homeowner was a very nice lady who was in the process of selling her home. We had expedited her project to satisfy the prospective buyer’s home inspector. It was early in the morning when we arrived in the area.

I remember turning on to the main street in a Lantana neighborhood and seeing downed trees and debris all over the street and landscape. We stopped in front of our customers home and knocked on the door. The homeowner came out and began detailing the previous nights storms. For good measure we put up a ladder to take a second look at her newly installed roof. I stepped off the ladder on to the asphalt shingles and looked in amazement. It looked as if a shotgun had been unleashed on the roof. I looked down to her and said, “You’re not going to believe this”. Her roof was totally shot! It was not 1 week old! And, on top of that, she had a buyer ready to close on the property.

Read more: Roofer Highland Village, Lantana hail storm response

It was at that moment, by total happenstance, that we realized we were the FIRST RESPONDERS to a major catastrophe. Homeowners were out in their front yards surveying the damages. There were NO service providers in the area at the time. Roofer Highland Village or not, we were the only support there that day. We began performing emergency services (tarping) right away while calling our crews for support. I think we spent the whole day inspecting roofs and repairing hail damage. It was an exciting day and those customers still thank us for the services we provided during the chaos.

Happy ending to the story is our initial homeowner sold her property successfully and ended up having 2 new roofs installed within 2 weeks of closing. At the end of the day, she was very pleased that EcoShield Roofing & Construction worked fast and professionally to complete her project. I think, at least from her point of view, we were the best roofer Highland Village or Lantana had that day(Of course, we think we’re the best roofer Highland Village or Lantana has anyday but, hey, we’re bias).

New Claims: Some of these homeowners HAVE NOT FILED a claim. Hard to believe but they may have been out of town during that time. Right now, we are getting in touch with these homeowners before the insurance company denies coverage for the damages. We’re doing what we can.

EcoShield really enjoyed getting to know the homeowners in the Highland Village and Lantana areas. Many of them are our friends today.

Dallas Housing: Things are heating up!

With the combination of today’s low interest rates, our vibrant Dallas economy, and mild weather the Dallas housing market is starting to rock. One of our customer appointments today gave us a real example.

Buying & Selling in DFW

This afternoon we were visiting with a customer of ours in the Garland area south of Interstate 30. They were interested in selling their home within the next few months so they contacted an Ebby Halliday realtor. The realtor set the price at the top of the market for the neighborhood and listed their house on the MLS this past friday. Would you believe it, It SOLD yesterday! How’s that for hot Dallas housing?

The homeowners were so shocked and excited that they didn’t know what to do. Right away, they called EcoShield to come out and perform a free roofing inspection as a first step, and we were happy to expedite the service. The good news: their roof is in GREAT condition, we found no hail damage, and she is looking good to close at the end of the month!

For those of you homeowners out there, whether buying or selling in the future, our area is experiencing very exciting value increases. EcoShield Roofing & Construction is meeting new customers from all over the country. We have a lot of people moving into the area from the North East. When they leave their area they sell their properties for hundreds of thousands of dollars and purchase homes here for a fraction of the cost. Usually, they get more land, a bigger, nicer home, and money left over to invest with. Makes sense right?? Same thing goes for the west coast areas.

Our Native Texans in the Dallas Fort Worth area already know that the metroplex is booming! We drive through more construction per capita than any metroplex in the country(at least it sure seems that way). New highways are going up in every corner of DFW. It’s definitely an exciting time.

For more information on a free roof inspection please fill out the contact us email form or just call direct. Thanks for reading this post on Dallas Housing.

Listen up Texas homeowners! Our insurance deductibles in Texas are going up. Check your insurance policy! The bank account you save, may be your own!

So, as most of us know, the last couple years have produced very strong hail storms up here in DFW, with hail damage resulting in millions of dollars in insurance claims. Although weather related insurance claims are not specifically chargeable to the individual policy holder, they do affect an entire region. Regionally, we all see increases to our insurance premiums to pay for the extra costs to the insurance company. You may have NOT filed an insurance claim but the rest of you neighborhood may have! Either way, we ALL end up paying a little more each month.

One of the latest developments in the DFW region has been the steady increases of insurance deductibles in Texas. Some of us are paying twice or three times what we originally paid. Once upon a time insurance deductibles where $250, wow, we really miss that as homeowners! In today’s climate, a 2% deductible is quite common, and even standard for some carriers. At renewals your deductible may be automatically changing to a higher number. My advice: PAY ATTENTION! We are all very busy with family, work, and kids but, as we roll into storm season, you may very large “out of pocket” expenses looming on the horizon. If you check it out today, you may find that a lower deductible makes sense financially and you can get those changes made BEFORE we run into bad weather. Take 30 minutes and save yourself thousands!

If you have a question about your insurance deductible in Texas, give a call. We want to help
